Dear RHH Family,
We give God praise that the year 2020 has finally come to a close. This is a year I can never forget because my immediate younger brother died at circa 49 years leaving behind his wife and three young children. We all have unforgettable stories of this year. We have faced a pandemic for the first time in our lives and this has taken its toll on our social, emotional, physical, financial and even spiritual lives.
What a year! But through it all the Lord has been faithful and merciful on us in unique ways. We were able to gather together at the beginning of the year and have our annual worker’s workshop in January and our annual prayer retreat in February. We hosted an immigration clinic in March and transitioned to the new normal at the end of March when all our services moved online.
Despite some of our usual annual conferences not taking place this year, new virtual events and community outreaches were birthed. We had our first virtual Vacation Bible School in August and children from all over the world were a part of it. Our annual Turkey at Thanksgiving took place in October and we gave out 500 turkeys to members of our community (more than double the amount we have given in previous years).
These are the exciting highlights that we started this year;
Divine Daily Prescriptions (DDRx) with Pastor Dr. Olayinka Dada started on April 6, 2020, and 37 seasons with timely prescriptions for these unprecedented times have been produced.
We started having two services to enable members to attend church in-person while adheringto all government health restrictions.
Break forth conference which holds on the first 3 days of every month started in October 2020and we have had amazing days of fasting, praying and praising God. Miracles and testimonies that seem impossible with all that is happening around us have come forth through this conference.
We also began a daily online prayer altar in November 2020 and this has been a great way for members to call in to pray despite the hustle and bustle of the day. Intercessions for individuals, families, nations and the current pandemic are being made daily.
Our 17th anniversary as a church took place in November 2020 and was a great way for us to reflect on the journey so far, where God has brought us from and where He is taking us to as a church.
Community outreach has been proven to be more essential and necessary in 2020 and we had our first Christmas Hamper giveaway in December 2020 where we distributed 250 hampers to members of our community to celebrate the Christmas season.
Our nativity, a Christmas musical drama written and directed by RHH members was premiered on Christmas Eve to mark our annual Christmas carol service.We are grateful to God for the new house fellowship centres and parishes that started this year. Many small businesses have been started by our members to the glory of God. New childbirths, engagements, purchase of landed property, change of immigration status are just a few of the testimonies that we have experienced in our midst this year. Indeed, many good things have come out of this tragedy!
We are so humbled by and grateful for everything our members, workers and volunteers are doing to build a stronger and more diverse church. We appreciate you for your commitment, faithfulness, availability, support, and sponsorship.
See you in 2021, our year of restoration!
Sincerely, Pastors Olayinka and Oluwatoyin Dada
